brian-k asked: Is Red City Radio "big" in Germany? How do the fans treat you?
caribbeansyndrome asked: You forgot he wasn't my friend anymore :( But that was quite some answer, about the "orgcore" term. "Grizzled pop" sounds cool! Although I gotta say the speech was too serious overall... Did your stock of whiskey finally end?
foolmentaljackass asked: Seriously. When are you guys coming to Toronto? I'll make sure there is beer in the fridge.
caribbeansyndrome asked: I was showing a friend of mine your Woody Guthrie video and he said "orgcore" was a compliment for you guys. He's not alive anymore. On the bright side, a few of his neighbours enjoyed your music, which I was blasting when I put fire to his house. :)
caribbeansyndrome asked: *fanboy mode on* Y AIN'T U COMING TO ITALY?!?!?! *fanboy mode off* But seriously, do you like spaghetti?
killingthegrimace asked: possom pie or mother fucking die
Do you like country music?
So do we. And in that spirit Garrett has released a solo song on his bandcamp page.

Europe dates
So in addition to our exciting news about sharing the stage with two amazing bands in I Am The Avalanche and Hostage Calm, we are proud and humbled to announce our European tour dates with none other than Anti-Flag. Oh we’re also playing with those jerks in Leagues Apart.
15/4-Luxembourg . Luxembourg @ Den Atelier w/ Anti-Flag 16/4-Oberhausen . Germany @ Zentrum Altenberg w/ Anti-Flag ...
We have a show next weekend.
It’s the day before my birthday so I imagine there will be dude shenanigans. We’re playing with the walking disaster that is The White Girls and Snow Cobra’s new band Lost Empires who I am sure will bring the shred. It’s at the Western Avenue institution that is VZD’s. 18+. Come early and buy me a shot.

Nice things: Part 8
“Seeing Red City Radio was already one of my most-anticipated things to do that weekend, but not only were they amazing live, there was a dude who proposed to his girlfriend on stage in a heartwarming moment of pure community. But the image that will forever stand out as being the most memorable is seeing half of the venue storm the stage during the band’s final song. It was...

Someone remind me
I want to sum up what has been an amazing twelve months on this tumblr. So many things to say, so little time this weekend. Perhaps Monday when the first hangover of the year has subsided.
Nice Things: Part 8
“Fun, catchy and completely out of left field; Red City Radio have gone from small-time buzz band to being on almost everyone’s radar. Expect big things in 2012 from these guys.”
-Chris Moran
Nice things: Part 7
“It’s kinda fitting that this album tops my list. I initially was a tad critical of the album on the Rock and Roll Brunch podcast, but quickly realized my error in judgement. RCR delivers non-stop balls-to-the-wall gruff-yet-melodic pop punk with some of the best harmonies I’ve heard in long time.”

My Top Ten For 2011
Keep in mind these are mine (paul) and mine alone and do not constitute a band list.
Also, here’s a gif of a dancing bear. Enjoy.
1. Restorations-S/T 2. Samiam-Trips 3. Banquets-Top Button, Bottom Shelf 4. Elway-Delusions 5. White Wives-Happeners 6. Maritime-Human Hearts 7. Rival Schools-Pedals 8. Polar Bear Club-Clash Battle Guilt Pride 9. Thrice-Major ...
Nice things: Part 6
“Gruff, poppy punk rock seems to be a popular (sub-[sub-])genre these days, and Red City Radio do it better than most. The dual vocals and gorgeous harmonizing help, and of course, the songs are killer. Easily exceeds the already-great material on their To the Sons and Daughters of Woody Guthrie EP.”
-John Flynn
A Clarification Of Sorts...
I have seen it written, sometimes mockingly and sometimes adoringly that we sing about whiskey. In the interest of full disclosure, I. Fucking. Love. Whiskey. And by whiskey I mean bourbon. And by bourbon I mean good bourbon. And by good bourbon I mean…well, you get the point. However, contrary to popular belief, we have never written a song about whiskey, drinking whiskey, distilling...
Nice things: Part 5
“The Dangers of Standing Still has a healthy dose of “woahs,” fast guitars, gruff vocals and sing-along choruses. It’s super accessible and helps remind you how fun punk really can be. I look forward to singing along loudly with my fist in the air at one of their shows soon. Come play DC, y’all. Fav Track: “Drinking Yourself Into The Future”
-Kira Wisniewski
I should add that...
Nice Things: Part 4
“Being into punk has some distinct disadvantages. One of which I try not to believe (but which has some teeth) is that the music can sound incredibly similar and redundant. While many people mean this in the clichéd three chords and a mohawk version, it still exists today in the gruff vocals, sing along choruses and songs about whiskey that seem to inundate a small corner of the punk...
Nice things: Part 3
“Every couple years a band comes out of nowhere and blows me away. A few years ago it was the Gaslight Anthem. Then it was Banner Pilot. Now, it is Red City Radio’s turn. The Dangers of Standing Still is as good of a debut album as I’ve ever heard.”
- Matt Baldwin
Nice things: Part 2
“Some bands write songs, some bands puke in broken televisions and some bands create anthems and while I can’t say with 100 percent certainty that the members of RCR don’t do the former two things, they most definitely do the third on The Dangers Of Standing Still.”
-Sloane Daley
Nice things
Of all the nice things said about us in these top ten lists, this quote is my favorite.
“I’ve said before that Red City Radio are a band that creates anthems like few other bands and their completely un-ironic punked up cover of glammy heavy metal band White Lion’s “Little Fighter” shows exactly where they get that quality from. I don’t know about you but that ...
This just a test.
